Our Army at War was the title for a comic book published by DC Comics that featured war themed stories and was the first appearance for popular heroes such like Sgt. Rock and Enemy Ace. The series started in August 1952 and ended in February 1977.
Our Army at War ran for 301 issues, before it was renamed Sgt. Rock. The stories were often followed by tag lines such as "Explosive Battle Action." One of the main characters was Sgt. Rock, who appeared in #81 as Sgt. Rocky along with his team, Easy Company, he got his final name only in issue #83. After his debut the title became practically Sgt. Rock's own series. Enemy Ace first appeared in #151 and quickly became very popular. Many of the issues were approved by the Comics Code Authority, as common during the Bronze Age of Comic Books.
